Our Management Team is made up of individuals primarily raised and educated in Iowa. We have graduates from Iowa State University, Drake University, University of Northern Iowa, Simpson College, Buena Vista, and DMACC. Together we have more than 160 years of experience with Traditions.
My name is Bonnie Netteland. After raising three children and graduating from Drake University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, I opened Clive Children’s Center in 1985. After more than 30 years in the child care business, I still find it very enjoyable and very rewarding. Knowing so many wonderful children and their families has left one with a true sense of joy.
My name is Kristen Netteland. I lead Traditions Children’s Centers and Clive Children’s Centers. I am a Des Moines native, graduating from Valley High School, Iowa State University and Drake Law School. I started my career in high school when we opened our first center. Today we care for over 1,200 children daily.
Our child care team is committed to quality care, high standards, ongoing learning, continual improvement, and leading through influence. We believe that children matter.
My name is Jana McCann. I am the Quality Director for Traditions Children’s Centers and Clive Children’s Centers. I really enjoy working with the magnificent women in our company that provide a caring environment for children to play, learn and grow. The formative years are the most important in a child’s life, and I am honored to be a part of this time for so many wonderful children and families.
An Iowa native, I graduated from Simpson College with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Early Childhood and Reading. I am married and I have four terrific children.
My name is Kristie Vasey and I am a Quality Director at Traditions and Clive Children’s Centers. I have worked in the early childhood field for over 20 years as a teacher, Child Care Center Director and consultant. I hold a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University in Child, Adult and Family Services. I feel as though we have an obligation to children to provide a safe, supportive environment where they can grow and develop both academically and socially. I am excited for the opportunity to foster these positive experiences children have at each of the sites and to build stronger communities.
My name is Jaci Yaukovitz. I am the Director at Traditions Children’s Center II, Building 100. I have been with Traditions for over 20 years. I graduated from Iowa State University, got married, and became a mom of three children. I especially loved being here at Traditions with my children in their elementary years. Over the years, I have seen our Tradition’s children grow and mature from infants to preteens.
My name is Jessica Wellik. I am originally from Garner, Iowa and now reside in Bondurant with my husband. I graduated from Iowa State University in 2011 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Child, Adult and Family Services. I have been working for Traditions Children’s Center since 2013 as the Johnston Assistant Director and became the Director at Traditions Children’s Center 2015.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, reading, and shopping. When I’m not busy with those things, you can find my husband and me cheering on the Cyclones at football and basketball games.
My name is Meghan Holland. I am the Director at Traditions Children’s Center II-200. This is my 16th year in child care and with Traditions Children’s Center, as I actually started working with Traditions when I was just 16 years old! I have my Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from DMACC and I enjoy children of all ages! I believe that every child should have access to quality child care, regardless of race, gender, economic status, or any other factors that may come up in a family’s life.
When I am not working with your children, I am spending time with my 2 year old daughter, Paisley, going bicycling with friends, shopping, and spending quality time with my family.
Hello! My name is Katie Mather. I am from Urbandale, married, and am a graduate of Iowa State University. I have an adorable cockapoo named Teddy! I have been with Traditions Children’s Center since 2015. I worked in a daycare setting and with children with mental and psychological issues previously.
“I love being able to be around the children every day and watching them learn and grow.” It is great to learn all of their personalities, and I know all the families on a personal level.
My name is Nicole Zahn. I am the Director of Traditions Children’s Center IV in Clive. I am a mom to 13-year-old twins, Max and Carter. They are the loves of my life. I have been with Traditions Children’s Center for 14 years at multiple locations. I have an Elementary Education Degree from Buena Vista. I have always loved working with children.
My name is Stephanie, and I am the Director at our Johnston location. I grew up in Northwest Iowa and attended Simpson College. While at Simpson, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I began working at Traditions in 2009 as an Assistant Director and Preschool Teacher. I enjoy getting to know all of the children and families at our center and watching each child grow and learn.
My name is Michelle Martin. I am the Director of Traditions Children’s Centers VI. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. I have worked for Traditions since 1998 as a Preschool Teacher, Supervisor, and a Director. I am married with 3 children. I love being a part of Traditions team for many reasons. The one that stands out the most is “being a part of the families’ lives.” I enjoy watching them grow from babies to school age children and being a part of that process.
My name is Carissa Barajas and I am the Director at Clive Children’s Center. I started my position as a Preschool Teacher/Assistant Director and worked up to a Director position. I am completing my Early Childhood Education degree from DMACC. Relationships with parents and their children are important to me and I enjoy learning new things about families every day. Watching children grow and change daily is fascinating to me. I am married and have three children.
My name is Tracy Benoit-Ostendorf and I am the Director of Clive Children’s Center II. I have 17 years of experience working with children. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education from DMACC. I love working in early childhood because each day is different. The learning is endless. When not at the center I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog. We are always cheering on our Iowa Haweyes.
